Cooking Momma-NOS
Wild and Wonderful West Virginia
I am Mommy to two beautiful girls, both have sensory issues when it comes to food. My eldest is ten years old and a textbook Sensory Processing Disorder child, when it comes to foods almost everything is "too squishy" "too juicy" "too crunchy" etc. etc. My youngest is seven and is on the Autism spectrum. Needless to say cooking can be quite a challenge, nearly every recipe on the web calls for diced onions or crushed tomatoes, both of which are fantastic...unless of course you have a picky eater or a child with sensory issues. My family recently started doing Once A Month Cooking (OAMC) and I was hard pressed to find ANYTHING I could make without tweaking, so my solution was to start this blog, I figure I can't be the only one out there trying to appease kids with simple "desensitized" meals that are not only sensory savvy but also yummy enough to serve the whole family.
